Prostate lesions were scored in a blinded fashion using an established grading system for TRAMP mice [35, 38]. Non-cancerous lesions were categorized as low grade (graded as 1, 2 or 3), indicating normal tissue, low PIN and high PIN, respectively. Grades 4, 5 and 6 were categorized as high grade, indicative of well-differentiated, moderately differentiated and poorly differentiated cancerous lesions, respectively. Pathology scores were significantly higher in the control group with 71% scoring high compared to Nexrutine® and exercise mice. Representative low magnification (200 μm bar) and high magnification (20 μm bar) images for control, Nexrutine® and exercise mice completing 20 weeks of intervention are presented.
