Antimicrobial activity of LA against human pathogenic bacteria and oral streptococci. LA equivalent to concentrations of 0.25, 2.5, 5 mM was added to the bottom layer portion of the TC in the wells of 96-well deep-well microplates. After incubation for 12 h at 37°C, nine human pathogenic bacteria and S. salivarius were inoculated into the top layer portion of the TC. After incubation for 12 h, the top layer portion containing the bacteria was harvested and the turbidity was measured at OD₆₀₀.
