TEM images of PS hollow beads containing ioversol in the interiors. The holes were closed by heating the PS hollow beads at 95 °C for 45 min in aqueous solutions containing: a,b) 25%, c,d) 51%, and e,f) 74% of ioversol. The samples were collected by centrifugation and thoroughly washed with ethanol and dried at 75 °C for 5 min to completely remove the water inside the beads prior to TEM characterization.
