Cellular viability of differentiated SH-SY5Y cells after a 24 h treatment with thiophenols 3–6 and phenols 7–10 at three different concentrations (1, 10 and 50 µM). Cellular viability was evaluated using two methods: MTT reduction (A, C) and NR uptake (B, D) assays. Results are expressed as the mean % of untreated controls ± SEM (n = 3). Statistical comparisons were performed using the parametric method of one-way ANOVA, followed by the Dunnett’s multiple comparisons test. In all cases, p values lower than 0.05 were considered significant (* p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01, *** p < 0.001, **** p < 0.0001 vs untreated cells).
