For strains carrying expression plasmids, the agar was supplemented with ampicillin (100 μg/ml) and arabinose (0.2% wt/vol). One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA; Tukey’s comparison) using GraphPad Prism 6 is indicated for select comparisons, while those for all pairwise combinations can be found in Table S3 in the supplemental material.
