Artesunate inhibited glioma cell growth. A, The effects of artesunate on glioma cell growth were assessed by crystal violet staining. U87, U251, U138 and SK‐N‐SH cells were seeded in a 24‐well plate at a density of 1000 cells/well. Cells were treated with 20 µm or 100 µm artesunate for 14 d. Then, the cells were stained with a crystal violet solution. B, The effects of artesunate on glioma cell apoptosis were assessed by Annexin V staining, and the results were quantified. C, The effects of artesunate on glioma cell motility were assessed with a wound healing assay, and the results were quantified.
