Fig 5. EZH2 mRNA levels exhibit early, transient increases after SE, while EZH2 target gene expression is down regulated out to 10 days.

Fig 5

For panels (A-E), gene expression data for five tested EZH2 target genes are shown. All statistical tests were performed using multiple t-tests with Holm-Sidak correction for multiple comparisons;*p <0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p< 0.001, ****p <0.0001. n = 3–13 animals for saline and n = 5–13 animals for KA conditions. Target genes show significant down regulation after SE out to 10 days (A-C), with the exception of SLC6A1 and KCNK4 showing no difference compared to saline animals at day 5. Down regulation in SLC6A1 and KCNK4 returns at 10 days (C). By 20 and 30 days, differences in gene expression are abated (D-E). (F) EZH2 mRNA levels significantly increase at 1 day and 10 days post SE. Statistical significance was assessed by Two-way ANOVA and multiple comparisons were corrected for by Holm-Sidak correction. n = 6–7 animals for saline and n = 5–9 animals for KA conditions.
