Inhibitory effects of Tt-ME on HCL/EtOH-induced gastritis. (a) Mice were orally administered Tt-ME (0 and 200 mg/kg) or ranitidine (40 mg/kg) every day for 3 days before oral administration of HCl/EtOH. One hour after oral administration of HCl/EtOH, stomachs of the mice were excised, and the gastritis lesions in the stomachs were photographed using ImageJ software. (b) mRNA expression levels of IL-6, IL-1β, iNOS, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IFN-α, and COX-2 from the stomach tissues of mice treated with HCl/EtOH were determined by quantitative real-time PCR. (c) Western blot analyses for phosphorylated and total protein levels of p65, Syk, and JAK2 were performed in stomach lysates, and the relative protein levels were analyzed by ImageJ software (right panel). Data are shown as mean ± SEM, n = 3. p < 0.01; ∗∗p < 0.05.
