Values are presented as mean ± standard deviation. Group A received bilateral 0.2 mL/kg bupivacaine (0.125%; maximum volume 4 mL/side). Group B received bilateral 0.2 mL/kg bupivacaine (0.125%) + 0.5 μg/kg dexmedetomidine (maximum volume 4 mL/side).

CHEOPS: children’s hospital of Eastern Ontario pain scale, PACU: post-anesthesia care unit, PO: postoperative.

*

P value < 0.05 was considered significant.

a

Independent t-test for the mean difference between both groups.

b

Two-way repeated measures ANOVA for data of the same group at different times.

c

Time*group interaction.
