Figure 1

(A) Identification of glutathione concentrations for sub-optimal growth of S. cerevisiae gsh1Δ. S. cerevisiae gsh1Δ was initially grown in minimal medium containing 200 μM reduced glutathione (GSH), washed twice with sterile water, and reinoculated in minimal medium without GSH for 7-8hrs. Cells were harvested, washed, resuspended in sterile water and serially diluted to give 0.2, 0.02, 0.002, and 0.0002 OD600 of cells. 10 μL of the cells were spotted on minimal medium containing a different concentration of GSH. (B) Growth comparison of gsh1Δ overexpressing ZWF1. Growth and serial dilution of gsh1Δ bearing the TEF-ZWF1 transformants described above Figure 1(A).
