The secondary chemical shifts of the ASPD, Aβ42 fibril, and Aβ40 fibril species (Δ13Cα shown in red and Δ13Cβ in black) are plotted on the vertical axis against those of SPA on the horizontal axis, along with the y = x (blue solid line) and y = x ± 1 (cyan dashed lines) curves. Marked differences between SPA and ASPD were found in both ΔCα and ΔCβ shifts of Phe20 and Val24 (green arrows), indicating different conformations of the two species.
