Delta body weight/year, delta BMI/year and delta WHR/year denotes the change in body weight, BMI and WHR, respectively, per year of follow-up. Significant P-values (<0.05) are marked in bold. Intergroup comparisons of continuous variables that were normally distributed were tested with the independent samples Student’s t-test. Data that were not normally distributed were tested with the Mann–Whitney U test. Categorical comparisons were calculated using Fischer’s exact t-test.
