Comparison of growth of Xag(EV), Xag(LcrX), and XagΔlcrX(EV) under 94 different conditions. The GEN III plate, which contains 71 different carbon sources and 23 different chemicals was used for this assay. The bacterial suspensions were adjusted at OD₅₉₀ of 0.02, incubated in GEN III plate for 2 days, and then measured at 590 nm. The graph represents different sources in which the growth of Xag(LcrX) and/or XagΔlcrX(EV) was different from that of Xag(EV) at (A) 24 h and (B) 48 h after incubation. White, gray, and black indicate Xag(EV), Xag(LcrX), and XagΔlcrX(EV), respectively. The plus and minus values indicate more and less growth compared with the controls, respectively.
