Early life predictors of reaction time in Threat vs. Neutral Social Trials: scatterplots per group (from the omnibus multiple regression model). A. Screams were predictive of RT, such that higher screams rates during infancy was predictive of faster RT to the threat congruent cue (β=-0.14, t=-6.1, p = 0.002), and this effect seemed driven by maltreated animals. B. Prenatal cortisol exposure (measured as hair cortisol at birth) predicted slower RT (β = 0.27, t = 2.8, p = 0.037), which again seems to be driven by the maltreated group.
