Effect of Schistosome antigens (SEA and SWA) on the expression of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory genes by macrophages, compared to the effect of IL-4 stimulation. Monocytes were cultured in the presence of human serum and SEA or SWA for 6 days and mRNA levels were determined by Q-PCR and expressed as fold-induction (FI) using GAPDH as a reference gene. Data were derived from five separate experiments, using cells from different donors. *Significance is p<0.05.
