Lipids were extracted from the cortex of mice inoculated with gut microbiota of young mice (+ Microb YM) or old mice (+ Microb OM). Lipid species were analyzed by LC-MS2. Results are expressed as abundance (in percentage) of each species relative to that of total species in the lipid class to which it belongs (100%). It should be noted that for the choline phospholipids and for certain masses, some species could not clearly be identified. As a consequence, the distinction between PC and PlsC cannot be made and the percentages presented here include the different possible combinations. The data of the lipid species for which the fatty acids have not been attributed to the sn-1 and sn-2 positions have been removed from this analysis. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM.
