Cutoff values for galectin‐9 and CXCL10 were determined based on the maximal Youden's Index with a sensitivity of >0.80, in order to ensure a low risk of ongoing active inflammation with a biomarker value below the set cutoff. Only 1 sample per patient per category (active disease or in remission) was included in the analysis (i.e., the cohort designated “JDM NL” [Juvenile Dermatomyositis The Netherlands], as shown in Figure 2 and Supplementary Table 5 on the Arthritis & Rheumatology web site at http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/art.40881/abstract]). NPV = negative predictive value; PPV = positive predictive value.
