Significant differences of mean alpha diversity measures and SCML calibrated read counts were calculated with linear mixed models, CV values were calculated with asymptotic and modified signed-likelihood ratio tests (MSLRT), beta diversity measures were calculated with nested permutational multivariate analysis of variance, and within-group variations of beta diversity measures were calculated with permutational statistical tests for the homogeneity of group dispersions. Values in boldface are significant (P < 0.05).
