Gaudichaudione H (GH) inhibited cytokines production and inflammatory genes messenger RNA (mRNA) expression in colon of dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced mice. Colons from mice were removed at the end of experiment, and finally lysed. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) (A) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (B) production in the supernatants were assayed using ELISA. The data are the means ± SEM, n = 7. Total RNA from colon tissues was isolated using TRIzol reagent, the mRNA expressions of IL-6 (C), TNF-α (D), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) (E), and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) (F) were detected using real-time PCR (RT-PCR). The data are the means ± SEM, n = 8. ### p < 0.001 compared with control, *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001 compared with 3.5% DSS.
