The more impaired right forelimb begins as the limb with the greatest difference from pre-injury. Over time, the right forelimb becomes much less different, at the expense of the other limbs, particularly the left forelimb. The less impaired limbs, with their greater range of motion and control, take more abnormal steps in order to have the more impaired limb take as normal a step as possible.
