α-TCT prevents glutamate-induced cleaved B-cell lymphoma—extra large (ΔN-Bcl-xL) formation. Primary hippocampal neurons were treated with α-TCT (1 µM), glutamate (20 µM), or a combination of both. (A–D) Immunoblot data indicate that α-TCT treatment prevents glutamate-induced ΔN-Bcl-xL formation (A,B) without changing full length Bcl-xL protein levels (A,C). α-TCT also decreased the abundance of activated caspase 3 (A,D) measured at 24 h incubation (n = 4).
