Blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) adaptation in the absence of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS). Each data point corresponds to a single subject and compares the mean direction-selective adaptation (αDS) in the left (y-axis) and right (x-axis) human motion area (hMT+). Error bars represent 95% confidence intervals. Replicating the findings of Huk et al. (2001), hMT+ showed adaptation of the BOLD signal due to sensory adaptation (αDS > 0). This effect did not differ between the hemispheres.
