Fig. 4

FRN amplitude by learning block in children and adults. The plots in panels A and B show feedback-locked waveforms at electrode FCz for the acquisition and reversal phases of the task respectively, in the adult group. Panels C and D display feedback-locked waveforms for the acquisition and reversal phases respectively in the child group. Time is shown on the x-axis in milliseconds, with 0 representing stimulus onset and amplitude on the y-axis in microvolts. The FRN peak and the time-range in which the FRN was measured are highlighted in each plot. The topographic maps shown in the insets of panels B and D represent the scalp activity in microvolts in greyscale during the FRN time-range in block 1 for adults and children respectively. These topographical plots are provided to illustrate that the FRN showed the typical topography for this component in both age groups.
