Experimental design: A, Newborn rats were exposed to 60% O2 for 4 days to induce bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). BPD animals were compared to rats that were maintained in room air (RA, 21% O2). On days 4, 10, and 20, BPD treatment animals received either mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) or vehicle (Veh). Outcomes were performed on days 20‐21. B, Schematic representation of intranasal delivery to Sprague‐Dawley rat pups. As noted, the animals were in an erect position with their necks slightly extended to facilitate delivery to the lungs
