S1P effects on airways are mediated by S1P₂ and S1P₃ receptors. Bronchi harvested from control and smoking mice were incubated with (a) S1P₃ antagonist TY‐52156 (10 μM) or (b) S1P₂ antagonist JTE‐013 (10 μM) prior to S1P challenge. In another set of experiments, lung resistances to S1P were measured following administration of (c) TY‐52156 or (d) JTE‐013.
