Neuroprotection by semaglutide is at least as strong as by liraglutide and is mediated by GLP-1Rs. Rats were subjected to 90-min MCAO, followed by 72-h reperfusion. Liraglutide (Lir.) or semaglutide (Sem.) was administered s.c. 5 min before the onset of reperfusion. Hemispheric lesion volumes corrected for oedema (%HLVe) (a) and neuroscores (b) were evaluated at the end of reperfusion period. Individual data and median with interquartile range are shown for each group.
