Defective autophagosome maturation in a chronic mice‐smoking model. A/J mice were exposed to cigarette smoke (or fresh air) for 30 min/d for 12 days using Hi‐lite cigarettes. Lungs were removed and homogenized for immunoblotting. Western blot was performed and membranes were immune‐stained against p62 (B), LC3(C,D), BICD1 (E), and β‐actin. N1‐N4: Control mice, CS1‐CS4: smoking mice. Protein amounts were calculated against β‐actin and plotted in graphs. Data were analyzed by using t test.
