Darkfield (Top) and brightfield (bottom) panels illustrate situ hybridization expression patterns of Hpcal4 mRNA in the lumbar spinal cord of naïve (WT) and TR4 mutant (KO) mice. Hpcal4 is predominantly expressed in the substantia gelatinosa (laminae I-II) in naïve mice but strongly reduced in the spinal cord of TR4 mutant mice.
