In-cloud vertical concentration profiles of selected species using the cumulative approach, that is, vertically averaged means of air-equivalent mass concentrations from all samples collected during the four field campaigns. Marker sizes for the Cl profile are proportional to the Cl:Na+ mass concentration ratio, ranging from 1.72 in the bottom fifth to 1.86 in the top fifth of clouds. The vertical error bars represent the standard deviation of normalized cloud height. The horizontal error bars represent one tenth of the standard deviation of air-equivalent concentration. The numbers next to the horizontal error bars are the number of data points used for calculations of that vertical bin.
