The horizontal and vertical error bars represent standard deviations of the normalized cloud height and normalized air-equivalent concentration, respectively. The numbers next to the horizontal error bars represent the number of data points used for calculations for a particular vertical bin. Marker sizes for the Cl− profile are proportional to the Cl−:Na+ mass concentration ratio, ranging from 1.66 in the bottom fifth to 2.17 in the top fifth of clouds.
