Effect of Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) application on collagen accumulation. Gingival tissue biopsies were collected at baseline and day 14 after surgery and treatment. Tissues were processed for histological analysis and stained with Masson’s Trichrome. The control was the sham operation in dogs with healthy periodontium. OFD represents the group that exhibited periodontal disease and were treated with open flap debridement alone. OFD + PRF refers to the groups that exhibited periodontal disease and were treated with open flap debridement and PRF application. Blue and yellow bars indicate 100 μm and 10 μm, respectively.
