Methods	Prospective, Randomized.
Participants	139 participants with penetrating colon injuries found at laparotomy; participants were excluded if any one of: BP<80/60, intraperitoneal blood loss >1000ml, more than 2 intra‐abdominal organs injured, significant peritoneal soilage, >8 hours to OR, colon resection required, major loss of abdominal wall.
Interventions	Primary repair (no resections) OR fecal diversion.
Outcomes	Complications, mortality, length of stay, events associated with colostomy closure, overall cost of care.
