(A) Before MWA, a liquid insulation layer (the arrow head) was created to protect the adjacent recurrent laryngeal nerves and vessels from thermal injury. The size of the parathyroid gland at the superior right position detected by ultrasound was 1.7*1.3*0.6 cm. (B) Color Doppler image showed abundant blood flows in the gland before MWA.
