Effect of SINV infection on the expression of Irf3 and Irf7 mRNAs in the nervous system. WT, IRF3−/− and IRF7−/− mice were infected intracranially with 103 p.f.u. SINV TE. Levels of Irf3 and Irf7 mRNAs were measured in the brain (a) and spinal cord (b) by qRT-PCR. The primers used for the detection of Irf3 mRNA (IDT) can detect residual transcripts in IRF3−/− mice. Data normalized to gapdh are presented as the mean fold change relative to uninfected WT mice±SEM of three mice/time point/group.
