The effect of tumor-magnet distance on magnetically assisted IP drug delivery. (A) The gradients of magnetic field reduce rapidly by increasing the distance of tumor from the magnet. (B–D) The MDT performance parameters Ci,ave, AUC, and W1/2,max strongly deteriorate as the tumor-magnet distance increases. (E) Interstitial retarding forces dominate magnetic forces for d > 10 cm and the drug penetration region remains limited to the lower half rim of the tumor.
