How this fits in

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a largely asymptomatic condition with a reported prevalence of around 15% in England in people aged ≥35 years. Routine screening in older people may detect undiagnosed CKD. Using two measurements of serum creatinine and urinary albumin, this study found the prevalence was 18.2% for any-stage CKD and 13.9% in stages 3–5 in an older primary care population (aged ≥60 years). Screening using these two measurements identified that around 8% of older people were living with undiagnosed CKD.
