Lysophosphatidic acid decreases the Bcl2 mRNA level, Bcl2 protein level, and Bcl2/Bax ratio while it increases the translocation of Bax and the activation of caspase-3 in neuronal PC12 cells. Q-PCR measures the Bcl2 mRNA level in neuronal PC12 cells treated with LPA (A,B). Western blot detects the protein levels of Bcl2, Bax and cleaved caspase-3 in whole cells as well as the Bax protein level in mitochondria of neuronal PC12 cells (C,D).
