Figure 4. — Cytokine levels in the lungs of BALB/c mice during C. gattii infection. Lung homogenates of BALB/c infected mice were assayed for (a) IL-12p40, (b) IFN-γ, (c) TNF-α, (d) IL-17 and (e) IL-10 by ELISA on d 7, 14 and 21 post infection. The cytokine concentration was normalised per organ mass and is expressed in picograms per milligram of tissue. The injection of PBS alone (uninfected mice) was used for the control group. Data are shown as the mean ± SD. Differences were considered significant at *P < 0.05 relative to uninfected controls.
