The PIF quintet acts collectively but differentially to induce DTG expression in response to vegetative shade. Time-course analysis of expression of the indicated PIF-DTGs in WT, pifq-quadruple, pif7 monogenic, and pifqpif7 quintuple mutant seedlings grown at 21 °C for 5 d in WLc (time 0) followed by 1 to 3 h FR-light–supplemented WLc (shade; R:FR ratio of 0.3).
