The combination of nilotinib and allopurinol induces K562 cell death more efficiently than individual treatments. K562 cells were treated with 50 nM nilotinib, 0.6 mM allopurinol or their combination for 48 h. Cell viability was analyzed by flow cytometry staining with Annexin-V/7AAD: viable (Annex−/7AAD−), early (Annex+/7AAD−) and late (Annex+/7AAD+) apoptotic, and necrotic cells (Annex−/7AAD+).
