The value of 35 PSU indicates that cultures were maintained constantly at this salinity, 50 PSU (24 h) indicates that cultures grown at 35 PSU were transferred into medium of 50 PSU and analyzed 24 h after transfer, and 50 PSU indicates cultures that were grown for two generations at this elevated salinity.
