A: path length of the aortic arch (aortic length = AL) which is the distance between the section through the Aorta ascendens (AA) and through the proximal Aorta descendens (AD) B: Region of interest (ROI) in the AA and in the AD in the aortic velocity maps C: Flow curves along with their respective calculated tangents. The transit time (TT) is the time between the two tangents. PWV = AL/TT.
