Methods Randomised controlled trial
Participants 150 patients undergoing major abdominal surgery
Interventions 1) 6% HES, LMW (n = 50) 
 2) 6% HES, MMW (n = 50) 
 3) 3% MFG (n = 50) 
 To keep MAP > 70 mmHg and CVP between 10 mmHg and 14 mmHg 
 Volume was given perioperatively until the morning of the first postoperative day. For each hour of surgery 500 mL to 800 mL of crystalloids was routinely infused
