Figure 2. — The steroidogenesis pathway of sex hormones. In this patient, immunohistochemical staining of the resected adrenal gland revealed expression of all the steroidogenic enzymes related to estrogens and their precursors, androstenedione and testosterone, in the estrogen-producing adenoma.
