Interventions |
Fixation of the fracture with hydroxyapatite‐coated AO/ASIF lag and cortical stainless steel screws in conjunction with a standard SHS plate versus standard stainless steel AO/ASIF screws and plate fixation. |

Participants who died in the six months follow up period (5 cases) or were lost to follow up (8 cases) were excluded from the study. In order to keep the number for follow up at 120, further patients were recruited. |
