Effects of PC1/3 cleavage on BDNF expression.

BDNF expression was estimated at 0, 12, 24 and 48 hours after transfecting cortical neurons with pPC1/3. (A–C) Intracellular PC1/3 (A), BDNF (B) and pro-BDNF (C) were detected by western blotting. The illustrated western blots are of the OGD group. (D) BDNF in the culture medium was assayed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Data are expressed as the mean ± SEM, and were analyzed by Student’s t-test. Values are presented as the percentage of control values and are from three independent experiments. #P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01, vs. pIRES2-EGFP group.
