The consensus ITAM sequence is D/ExxYxxL//I x6–12YxxL/V/I. Similar variations with the ITAM consensus sequence have been reported for functional ITAMs previously [45–47, 49]. ITAM sequences with longer spacers have also been reported to bind and activate Syk [74, 81].
