LC-MS chromatograms of the oligomeric fractions tested for their ability to stimulate macrophages. Chitin hexamer (600 µg) was incubated in 50 mM NaHCO₃ (pH 7) at 37 °C for either 1 h (early) or 90 h (late) with 100 µL (116 µg) of purified CnCda4. A heat-inactivated batch of CnCda4 was used for the two controls (A6 and D6). The reaction was stopped by passing the sample through a 3-kDa filter, removing the enzyme.
