TUSC2 forced expression increased sensitivity to apoptosis induced by doxorubicin (DOXO) and staurosporine (STS) in thyroid cancer cells. 8505C and TPC-1 cells stably transfected with TUSC2 or Control Vector plasmids were treated with 1 µM of doxorubicin (DOXO) or 2.5 µM of staurosporine (STS). After 48 (for DOXO) and 24 h (for STS), cells were collected by trypsinization, stained for 10 min with trypan blue and counted in triplicate. Histograms show the number of live and dead cells (a) and the percentage of cell viability (b) ± standard errors. Stably-transfected TPC-1 (c) and 8505C (d) cells were treated with 2.5 µM of STS for 6 h and the percentage of apoptotic cells was measured by flow cytometry with propidium iodide (PI) staining.
