The halo-vest was placed under general anesthesia before surgery in the supine position (a) and connected to the operating table via a special connector (arrow in image (a)) in the prone position (b). We used the halo-vest to stabilize the patient’s neck, instead of a neck orthosis, for 2–3 weeks postoperatively.
